Private experiences in Provence, built for you

Provance can be defined as encapsulating tranquility and rich sensory experiences. Our private tours of the region are designed to deliver the best of this idyllic village region for you.

Known for its charming cobbled streets, papal palaces, medieval fortresses, and blissful lavender fields and vineyards, Provance came to many people’s attention with the publication of  Peter Mayle’s bestselling “A Year In Provance” where he distills the essence of the region through describing relocating his family into a 200-year-old stone farmhouse in a remote village. On your private tour of the region, we would be delighted to guide you around the remarkable hilltop villages, cheerful port towns, and lush lavender fields described in its pages.

Our tours of Provence are completely customizable, so simply complete our online inquiry form and your personal tour planner will be in touch to begin crafting a complimentary tour itinerary for you and your private guide that will deliver the best of the region to you.

What makes our tours of Provance so special?

Our tours are totally customizable so if you have a particular passion or interest that you would like to indulge on your tour such as a wine tasting experience with local producers simply let us know and we can design it into your itinerary.

Salut from France! I’m Debbie, founder of Luxury France Tours.

Having developed into a Francophile on a trip to the French Alps many years ago while still in school, I moved to France after a career traveling the world led to me meeting my (now) French Husband in Johannesburg. Multi-Day Tour Itineraries To Inspire Your Trip

Avignon: Medieval City of the Popes

Visit Avignon’s ancient town center and discover its fascinating history firsthand on one of our private guided tours.

The city is known as the medieval city of the Popes because between 1309 and 1377, seven successive popes lived in the historic center (with Clement VI eventually buying the town in 1348). The center includes sites such as the Palais des Popes, an impressive cathedral, and the Pont d’Avignon which led UNESCO to declare it a World Heritage Site back in 1995.

This stunning town is one of our favorite places to bring clients to Provence and is well worth a visit if you’re touring the region. Include it in your itinerary by clicking ‘Create My Custom Tour’ below.

Carrieres de Lumieres

Visit the spectacular Carriers of Light in the heart of Alpilles. Built out of the remains of an old quarry the Carrieres de Lumieres host fantastic multimedia shows projected onto the surfaces of the rock and grounds.

Featuring exhibitions such as Van Gogh and Salvador Dalí, all with incredible atmospheric music to accompany your journey through the shows, we really can’t recommend this experience enough.

Include a trip to the Carrieres de Lumieres in your itinerary by clicking ‘Create My Custom Tour’ below.

Les Baux-de-Provence

Named after the province of Provence, Les Baux-de-Provence is regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Europe and only has 22 residents.

Perched atop a rocky outcrop and crowned with a ruined castle, there have been traces of human habitation found in Les Baux-de-Provence dated to 6000BC and is a fascinating town to tour.

The town also produces excellent olive oil and a full-bodied red and rose wine for visitors to take home to remember their visit by. Include a visit to this incredible town in your tour itinerary by clicking ‘Create My Custom Tour’ below.

Gordes

Include a visit to the beautiful hilltop town of Gordes and tour their incredible Renaissance castle (built 1525). This stunning town has a fascinating history dating back to the Celtic times and was later occupied by the Roman Empire (which you can see constant reminders of as you walk through the town).

You can also see sites such as the Saint-Firmin Palace cellars, Sénanque Abbey, or perhaps enjoy a trip around the town’s traditional markets.

Include a trip to Gordes in your itinerary by clicking ‘Create My Custom Tour’ below.

Wine Tours & Tastings Provence

Taste the unique Provence wines by visiting one of its many famous wine regions. With its mild winters and long, warm summers, Provence is ideal for growing grapes (of which there are 13 distinct types available in the region, all unique to France) and is perhaps most famous for its rose.

Visit world renowned regions such as Côte de Rhône, Côte de Provence, Côteaux d’Aix-en-Provence and the seaside Provençal Mediterranean with expert sommeliers to guide you through your journey.
