In more recent years Reims was the city where the Commander in Chief of the German Army signed the surrender to WWII.

The city was 80% destroyed in World War I and actually was the most damaged city across the whole of France during this period.

Not only is the Louvre the most visited museum in the world it is also the biggest museum with galleries spreading over 15 acres! Top tip – if you are ever buying bread in France never go to an empty boulangerie – the French are perfectly happy to queue outside their favorite for 20 minutes rather than buy bread from a shop where they believe the bread is of inferior quality. Your tour will include a visit to an award-winning fromagerie as well as local charcuterie and poissonnerie.

In the afternoon your private chauffeur take you on a drive past the famous Notre Dame where you can see the army of construction workers restoring this landmark building following on from the devastating fire in 2019 before heading towards the famous shopping avenue in France – the Champs Élysées, home to Louis Vuitton, Guerlain, and Cartier.
