Multi-Day Tour Itineraries To Inspire Your Trip

Bordeaux Cathedral

Having been consecrated in 1096 and featured two historic royal weddings, the Bordeaux Cathedral is not lacking in historic importance and certainly not in striking beauty. This Roman Catholic church was initially dedicated to Saint Andrew and in 1998 was designated (along with the basilica of St Severinus, the basilica of St Michael, part of Route of Santiago de Compostela in France) a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This gothic masterpiece also showcases the Marcadé collection (a group of forty-two illuminations, paintings, sculptures, and objects) as well as an incredible grand organ. Place de la Bourse

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2007 as an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble of the 18th Century, Place de la Bourse is a grand square in Bordeaux and one of the city’s most recognizable sites and tourist attractions. Building started back in 1730 with the original plan featuring a statue of King Louis XV of France in the center of the square which was later destroyed during the French Revolution, with the sculpture ‘Three Graces’ now standing beautifully in its stead.

A truly stunning feature of the city of Bordeaux, Place de la Bourse is certainly not one to be passed on during your trip to France. Include it in your own tailor-made itinerary by clicking ‘Create My Custom Tour’ below and start planning your perfect French vacation today.

Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux

The Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux is a strikingly beautiful opera house that is the pride of joy of the city of Bordeaux, often referred to as ‘The Emblem of Bordeaux’.

The theatre is one of the oldest in Europe, having been built in the 18th century, but still presents itself as well as a selection of exquisite performances all year round. Take a trip back in time and experience the wonders of the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux by clicking ‘Create My Custom Tour’ below.

Medoc Wine Tour

Located on the left bank of Bordeaux, the Médoc region offers the star-studded cast of tightly packaged wine-producing areas of Margaux, St Julien, Pauillac, St Estéphe, and Haut-Médoc.

The unique soil that is said to characterize the region’s wines produce rich reds including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and sometimes even a targeted Malbec.

The region’s proximity to Bordeaux makes it a superb destination for a day trip to experience full-bodied French wine at its finest and most authentic. Include a Médoc Wine Tour in your private tour of France today by clicking ‘Create My Custom Tour’ and requesting your own tailor-made itinerary.

St Emilion Wine Tours

Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Saint-Emilion is one of the most prestigious wine regions on the globe. Its endless landscape of vineyards is inhabited by more than 800 wine producers who welcome more than a million visitors every year throughout the nine communes that make up the region. Filled to the point of spilling with excellent wine and stunning châteaux, St Emilion contains some of our favourite wineries to visit while on tour with clients, including: Château Coutet, Château Bernateau, Château La Croizzille, Château Guibeau, Château Soutard and the Château de Ferrand to name but a few!

Want to find out first-hand why St Emilion is regarded as one of France’s best wine regions to visit? Just click ‘Create My Custom Tour’ below to start planning your tailor-made private trip of France today.

Basilica of St. Michael

Bordeaux is famous for its Catholic heritage, with a number of incredible basilicas and catholic monuments throughout the city, but while the Basilica of St. Michael is not the largest, it’s one of our personal favorites to visit. This flamboyant gothic church, part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela UNESCO World Heritage site, was built between the end of the 14th and the 16th century and welcomes visitors to tour around its stunning interior and holds public masses all year round.

Include a visit to the Basilica of St. Michael in your private tour of France by clicking ‘Create My Custom Tour’ below.

Pey Berland Tower

A separate bell tower of the Bordeaux Cathedral, the Pey Berland Tower (or Tour Pey-Berland to locals), was constructed from 1440 to 1500 and offers visitors stunning panoramic views of the city for those willing to climb it’s 230 steps! This stunning tower is one of our favorite places to cast an eye over the Bordeaux city skyline, and being so close to Bordeaux cathedral and a number of other tourist attractions, we thoroughly recommend a visit while you’re here!
